Facebook is the fastest growing social media platform in the world and has become one of the biggest tools used by businesses' to manage their customer relationships. But how do you create a community of fans and engage with them effectively? We’re here to give you some top tips that will help you get the most out of your business’ Facebook Page.

1. It’s all about content

Many companies forget that on social media they are engaging with real people. And these people have likes, dislikes and even a sense of humour! Try and post a good variety of content such as industry news, topical subjects, funny and interesting content and last but not least information about your business.

2. Use images

It’s been proven that images work wonders on Facebook. So, whenever you’re posting about a topic, try and include a matching image! Facebook also ranks posts containing an image more highly than other posts that contain links or solely text meaning that your post will be seen by more people!

3. Get to know your fans

Try and understand what your fans are talking about before you connect with them. Page Insights is a great tool that lets you track which of your posts were most successful in creating engagement, so take note and post more of the same.

4. Post regularly

Being on Facebook is only effective when it’s maintained regularly, just as you would with your social life in real life. It’s important to keep up momentum or all your hard work will go to waste.

5. Be relevant

Try and post about topics that people can easily relate to. Talking about key dates is always a good place to start - from Valentine’s Day or Bonfire night it’s guaranteed to create a buzz.
